A new generation of Moen showers will be more intelligent. After announcing plans to integrate Siri and Alexa into its U by Moen smart shower series in 2018, the company said that it would do so this year. In 2019, on the other hand, it is upping the ante by integrating the Google Assistant as a part of the series as well. The Alexa feature has also been upgraded from being a 3rd-party feature to being a fully integrated Amazon Alexa Skill, which is now available for purchase on Amazon.
If you want to turn off the shower, instead of saying “Alexa, tell Moen to turn off the shower,” you may just say “Alexa, turn off the shower” and the command will be carried out. It worked the same way with Google and Siri as well; simply swap out “Alexa” for either “Google” or “Siri” to activate the feature. That is unquestionably easier to say, especially when you are sluggish in the morning, than the previous sentence. Besides that, you can now include the shower as a component of your Alexa Routines and Smart Home Groups. In other words, when you ask Alexa to start your daily routine, your shower can turn on in a fraction of the time it would have taken previously.
Since July 2018, Alexa has been able to provide you with information on local businesses, including their phone numbers and hours of operation. However, according to the most recent upgrade, it is now capable of making a call on your behalf in real time! However, it is not exactly the same as Google Duplex, which allows the search behemoth’s voice assistant to phone businesses and converse with them, but it should save you time if you are already using Alexa to find the nearest Domino’s restaurant.
The integration of local businesses in Alexa’s routines is only one of several new abilities she will be gaining in the future. You will now be able to instruct them to make declarations or set mobile notifications, as well as to cease music playback and automatically turn on Do Not Disturb mode on an Echo device, among other functions.
