Uber To Host Heritage Ride Of Indian Cars On Children’s Day

This Children’s Day, Uber has come out with something unique offering. The company will provide services with a range of classic and heritage cars; this includes Contessa, Hindustan Ambassador, Premier Padmini, and also Maruti Suzuki 800. The offer will be rolled out for the limited period to freshen up the olden day’s memory of the 80s and 90s. In that age, the motoring was more soulful and simple compared to today. The cars for the ride can only be availed on November 14, 2017, amid 1–3 PM and can be found in the new icon “Nostalgia” on the app.

The program will be only available in two cities; Pune and Mumbai and not across the country. The heritage cars that will be used for the program will be basically private cars with the temporary license provided by the Uber. The cars are preselected by the company by checking every parameter.

Rides such as Contessa and Ambassador will be among the most demanded car from the users who wish to reap the spacious interior with a vintage touch. Moreover, Padmini and Maruti 800 that are in well-maintained condition are also expected to grab some attention as those were the most used public cars by a common person. The slots will be kept limited for the nostalgia ride as the main motive is to give the users memorable experience of the olden and golden era. Each trip will be of 15 Minutes. The user booking ride on that period will be getting a special hamper filled with movie posters, Phantom sweet cigarettes, Tinkle comics, slam books, and Kismi toffees.

However, this program of heritage ride on Children’s Day will be a quite new for the Punekars as these models are hard to find these days and have been considered as vintage vehicles. While Mumbai still has a huge fleet of Premier Padmini in the form of taxis used for daily commute.
